Will a simple physical plug adapter like this work?:
Will this connect Apollo 8 to a windows thunderbolt 3 ready machine?
Check the approved list I would go with the Startech tb3 to tb2 adapter -
Qualified Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Adapters
The following Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapters have been tested for compatibility with Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo audio interfaces and UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt.
Note: The adapter connects between the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port on the computer and the Thunderbolt-equipped Universal Audio product.
Startech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Adapter (Product ID: TBT3TBTADAP)
Kanex Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Adapter (Product ID: K170-1051-BK6I)
Apple* Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter (Product ID: MMEL2AM/A)
Qualified Adapter Notes
*The Apple adapter is incompatible with hot-plugging the adapter into the computer’s USB-C port. However, the adapter is compatible with hot-plugging the Thunderbolt cable into the adapter.
The qualified Thunderbolt 3 adapters are compatible with connections to external Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 devices.
Thanks for your response
The apple doesn't work on my Dell XPS 15. Use the other...
Is there any solutions to this ...
I have just ordered an xps 15 dell and hoping that it works with apollo 8s and twins ...I have also got USB twin but hoping to connect my Mac units via the thunderbolt 3

OMG this is getting expensive. So I do need
- Startech USB 3.1 C to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter
- AND a Thunderbolt 2 Cable
I just ordered the 8 Quad because I like the Quad Satellite for free offer. I don't want to switch to Apple, so I also ordered a HP x360 Spectre (Kaby Lake) with 2 USB-C Thunderbolt Ports.
Hope this setup will work well.
Windows 10 - HP Spectre x386 i7500U, 16 GB RAM; Apollo 8 QUAD; Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Connector (StarTechcom)
